Pressure Machine Fixture 3d Parametric Design System

The fixture is important component in both conventional manufacturing industry and in modern manufacturing industry. The fixture has direct effect on quality, cost of the products, and productivity of manufactured. Nowadays, due to the severe competition and the request of infomationization, enterprises have brought up a higher demand in designing and making of the fixture.This paper mainly research on the fixture of Gas compressor, and take innovative design which refer to traditional procedure of fixture design. The author changes the traditional two-dimensional design method into three-dimensional design and parameterization method of designing fixture. By using Visual Basic 6.0(object-oriented visualization programming software), SolidWorks (three dimensional mechanical design software) and AutoCAD (two-dimensional mechanical design software) , the author builds up five modules: fixture information processing module, three dimensional parameterization design module, fixture technical process module, fixture performance evaluation module, animation demonstration module. This system effectively enhances the fixture designing efficiency, reduce the cost and save human resources.This paper uses VisualBasic 6.0 to re-develop SolidWorks, carries on the parameterization design of fixture for major parts of the gas compressor, which enable the system quickly generates the different fixture in different size series. Under the SolidWorks assembly body interface, fixtures can be assemble in order, which means designer can exams the structure of fixture whether there is reasonable and whether there is interfered between them. In addition, this system has developed two auxiliary plug-in units, the animation plug-in unit and Technical card plug-in unit. Animation plug-in unit can display the assemble procedure of fixtures and parts in lifelike animation, which shows the order of assemble activity, and the inner structure of assembly parts. Technical card plug-in unit can redeploy Technical card under SolidWorks interface, and designer can quickly edit them according to the characteristics of different specific parts.To exam fixture designed by this system, this paper carries on analysis basic on the theory, takes assemble fixtures for two top surfaces of the milling crank shaft fixture as example. The system developed in this paper has been applied in the practice, and earns good economic benefits.
