Objective:This thesis explores the new rule and method to treatment Goiter with the means of combining literature research and statistic analysis.Methods:Retrieve the literature of Goiter from one hundred ancient medical books, and then ascertain the available prescription to treat Goiter, make the data of prescription normative to setup database, adopt frequencies to statistic analysis the data,finally, combining the knowledge of Goiter, analysis the statistical result make use of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory.Results:1.This research assemble 241 prescriptions, including 180 kinds of medicine,19 categories, the total times of using medicine to be 1640 times, and 103 prescriptions are pill, as a main form of medication. It would be more effective to using wine and increasing the times of taking medicine.2. Discover the therapeutic rule of paralysis in the past dynasties: the time before Song Dynasty, the most commonly used medicines to cure Goiter are the Phlegm medicine, the Heat-clearing drugs, the Tonic medicine, the Relieve drug; at the time of Song Jin Yuan Dynasty, the most commonly used medicines to cure Goiter are the Phlegm medicine, the Heat-clearing drugs, the Tonic medicine, the Relieve drug, too; at the time of Ming Dynasty, the most commonly used medicines to cure Goiter are the Phlegm medicine, the Tonic medicine, the Heat-clearing drugs, the drugs for regulating Qi flow; at the time of Ming Dynasty, the most commonly used medicines to cure Goiter are the Phlegm medicine, the Tonic medicine, the Heat-clearing drugs, the diuretics for eliminating dampness. At the whole time of past dynasties, the most commonly used medicines to cure Goiter are the Phlegm medicine, the Heat-clearing drugs, the Tonic medicine, the Relieve drug.3. From Han Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, the development tendency of all kinds of medicines to cure Goiter is:the use frequency of the Tonic medicine, the Heat-clearing drugs and thyroid gland of animal declines gradually. The use frequency of the Tonic medicine, the drugs for regulating Qi flow and the drug for invigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis rises gradually. The use frequency of the Relieve drug and the diuretics for eliminating dampness keep level off.4. In the composition of the high frequency medicine, the most using medicine is the Phlegm medicine. Concluusions:1. Ancient physicians treating Goiter most commonly used pill.2. Phlegm method is the primary method of treatment of Goiter.
