Objective:To observe sleep and psychological condition of patients suffering insomnia caused by liver Qi stagnation, and the clinical effect of insomnia of this type treated by "Dragon and Tiger war" method of acupuncture. To provide a new way to treat the physical and mental diseases such as insomnia caused by liver Qi stagnation.Methods:A randomized, controlled, single blind clinical trial, will be included in the standard liver Qi stagnation, insomnia were randomly divided into treatment group and control group 36 cases,1 day 1 acupuncture treatment,1 month for a treatment cycle, patients were treated after the 3 month follow-up. Control group, conventional acupuncture treatment group added in the liver shu points, "Dragon and Tiger war" acupuncture. After the end of each treatment cycle of sleep and anxiety score. All data processing with computer SPSS15.0.Results:According to the clinical trial and research program requirements, a total of 72 subjects were enrolled in this study, including liver shu points, "Dragon and Tiger war" acupuncture treatment group,36 cases,36 cases of normal control group. Treatment group,2 patients were dropped out, according to group 3 patients were dropped out, according to the pilot scheme a total of 67 patients completed the treatment.3 months after treatment, the patients were asked to pay follow-up visits, finally, the treatment group contained 25 cases and the control group consisted of 26 ones. The recovery rate of treatment group is 50%, and that of control group is 24.24%, it is obvious that the former is higherand the difference between them had statistical signif icance(P>0.05).Conclusion:There were obvious effect in treating insomnia-patients with liver-qi stagnation by both "Dragon and Tiger war" and normal methods of acupuncture. However, the totally effective power of group treated by "Dragon and Tiger war" method was higher than that of the later group. In treatment of depression, anxiety etc.,the former method was more effective, but there was no statistical significance. In treatment group, through comparing whether hypnotic drugs has been reduced by the two methods of acupuncture, we found the sleep-producing drugs could be reduced by treating with "Dragon and Tiger" war method.
