| | Diagnostic Value Of Plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan Detection For Deep Tissue Fungal Infection | | Posted on:2011-09-20 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Z Li | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2194330335490118 | Subject:Clinical Laboratory Science | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective:To study the clinical significance of plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan in diagnosis of clinical deep tissue fungal infection. Methods:The plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan was detected by Microbiology Kinetic Rapid Reader MB-80 within 108 in-Patients clinical deep tissue fungal infection and 20 healthy controls. At the same time, the samples were observed under microscope and detected by culture technique.Results:1.The mean concentration of plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan in the healthy controls was (5.97±2.94) pg/ml. The concentration of clinical deep tissue fungal infection with positive culture and negative culture was (99.96±37.04) pg/ml and (31.27±23.67) pg/ml, respectively. T'-test analysis indicated the mean concentration of plasma (1-3)-beta D glucan in clinical deep tissue fungal infections and the healthy controls had significant difference (t'= 18.49,7.70, P< 0.05,0.05). There was a significant difference(t'= 11.48, P< 0.05) between the samples of clinical deep tissue fungal infection with a positive fungal culture and negative culture results.2. Plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan detected method is more sensitive than fungus culture (x2= 30.13, P< 0.01). By plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan detected method, diagnosed 80 of 108 samples(74.1%), by culture method diagnosed 54 of 108 samples (50%).3. Candida albicans is the common pathogenic fungi for deep fungus infection.Conclusion:1 Plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan detection can help clinicians early diagnose the invasie fungal infections which conventional methods are hard to diagnose. It is especially suitable for early diagnosis of candida and aspergillus infection.2 Plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan can be a specific marker for clinical deep tissue fungal infections. It can be used to evaluate the severity of deep tissue fungal infections3 The advantages of plasma (1-3)-beta D-glucan detection is simple, rapid and sensitivity. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | deep tissue fungus infection, (1-3)- beta-D-glucan, Candida albicans, fungal culture | | PDF Full Text Request | | Related items |
