| Objective:to assess the efficacy, necessity and safety of an antidepre- ssant drug for preventing depression induced by interferon in chronic hep- atitis C (CHC). Methods:Used the computer,we searched the PubMed (19 66~2009), EMbase(1984~2009),CBM(1978~2009), CSJD(1979~2009) and CJFD (1989~2009)for randomized contro- lled trials(RCT) or semi-RCT on the use of antidepressant drugs to prevent depression ind- uced by interferon in chronic hepatitis C. The quality of included trials was evaluated acc- ording to the Cochrane handbook 4.12. RevMan 5.0 software was used for data anal- ysis. Results:Four randomized controlled trials involving 398 hepatitis C virusinfected patients were identified. The results of meta-analysis showed that there was no statistical different- ce in rates of major depression during study[RR=0.77,95%CI(0.28,2.16) Z=0.23, P = 0.82],but can reduced the severity of depression,[MADRS scores<15 v.s. MADRS scores >15 or =15,RR=0. 52 ,95%CI (0.36,0.75) Z=3.51, P =0.0004],but a significant difference was found between the two groups. The studies reported side efects, showing that the side efects for antidepressant drugs were mild to moderate, and no influence in antiviral therapy. Conclu- sion:Current evidence indicates that antidepressant drugs pre-treatment in heaptitis C vir- us patients have no superiority to reduce the rates of major depression, but can lighten the severity of depression. the side efects for antidepressant drugs were mild to moderate, and no influe- nce in antiviral therapy. |
