Objectve: With all bands of EEG power activity in central nervoussystem(CNS) acting as a electrophysiology index, we investigated whether ventral prefrontal cortex(VPFC) of raacaca mulatas is concerned withaddiction in morphine abuse or not. Methods: Firstly, three robustmacaca mulatases were used to establish animal model of morphine dependence, and then, we implanted electrodes into VPFC of monkeys by operation. After recovery, we started to inject morphine at low dose(0. 5mg/kg) and gradually increased dose to arrive addictive state. During administrating morphine, we recorded EEG power activity in VPFC during Effect Period (recording at the moment of administration) and After Effect Period (recording at 12 hour after administration) of morphine in two different conditions. After EEG data analysed by MATLAB6.5 , dealt with them by statistical method and drawn graphs according to the result, we observe the trends of all bands of EEG power activity during morphineaddiction. Result: During Effect Period, The trend of morphineinfluencing 3 , Y high frequency bands power activity presents from decline to raise; in contrast, the trend of morphine influencing δ , 9 low frequency bands power activity presents from raise to decline. During After Effect Period, The trend of morphine influencing δ and a low frequency bands power presents slowly raise in company with prolonging days of administrating morphine; by contrast, the trend of morphine influencing 3 , Y bands power activity presents slowly declinein company with prolonging days of administrating morphine. Conclusion:l.VPFC of macaca mulatas is concerned with addiction in morphine abuse. 2. All bands of EEG power activity can act as a electrophysiological index to reflect morphine addiction. 3. The result of this experiment presents important significance for uncovering biological mechanism of drugaddiction , appraising of brain function for addictive patients and therapy, pharmic exploiture.
