Rat Model Research of Yin and Yang Deficiency in Type2 DiabetesMellitusObjective: To build the disease and syndrome combined animal modelof Yin and Yang deficiency in type-2 diabetes mellitus, in order toexplore the method and standard of Yin and Yang deficiency animalmodel in type-2 diabetes mellitus.Methods: 80 mice were randomly divided into four groups. Resides thenormal control group, other three groups were all given high fat diet.Four weeks later, two of the three latter groups were injectedStroptozotocin to build the diabetes mellitus model--diabetesmellitus blank group and Yin and Yang deficiency group. The latter were built by traditional Chinese herb Qing Pi, Zhi Qiao, Can Jiang and Huang Bai for four weeks, then treated by traditional Chinese medicine Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan.Results:The rats of Yin and Yang deficiency group were hyperdrunk, hypersuffered, diuresis, thin, curled up, liked to gather, lazy to move, grew slowly, body hair with no sheen, thin bowel, struggled faintly when given hurb, red tongue with less moss. In the Yin and Yang deficiency group, the level of serum triglycerides, total chlesterole, low density lipoprotein, plasma cortisol and thyroxin B2 were obviously higher,and the level of insulin, FT3 and 6-keto prostaglandin. were evidently lower than that in normal control group. All the index signs were instaurated after the modification of Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan.Conclusion: It is available to develop type-2 diabetes mellitus according to the Chinese medicine theory to use the medicine quality of four Qi and Five Wei on the base of high fat and Streptozotocin. Through this experiment, animal model of Yin and Yang deficiency and diabetes mellitus are combined, so that the animal model of diabetes mellitus are combined with syndrome, it will provide good conditions to extensively study the diabetes mellitus.
