| BACKGROUND: Conscious sedation is a successful technique, which is now performed exclusively in endoscopic operations for outpatients. Since the PC A has been used in clinic, PCS was used in clinic too. But there is not any reports about it's using in laparoscopy.METHOD: Outpatients who will receive laparoscopy under local anaesthesia were randomly given 6 diferent sedations or anaesthesia. Conditions of conciousness, unpleasant feelings, vital signs, satisfactions and dosage of medicaments were recoded and analyzed.RESULT: Patients in the six groups were comparable in age, weight, kinds of operation and operational time. All patients completed the operation favourably. There was not obvious degression of Oxygen saturation (OS) except one as we have given the patients oxygen by mask throughout the operation. Patients who were given sedations given more satisfactions and received less discomforts than patients who received local anaesthesia. Complex sedation groups proved their benefits by comparing with local anaesthesia and sedation using just propofol. Group PR3 is more effective than the others. Patients give more satisfaction to PCS as well as it used larger dose than group PR3.CONCLUSION: Conscious sedation or PCS is a available, efficient and safe technique using in laparoscopic operations for outpatients. As its simplicity, availability and quicker discharge time comparing with local anaesthesia, Conscious sedation or PCS offer a good choice for outpatients who will receive laparoscopy. |
