Objective: To develop the effective therapy for atrial fibrillation (AF), and study the mechanisms of Dingxin capsule. To elucidate the role of Ca2+-ATPase and Cx40, express level of Ca2+-ATPase and Cx40 in the pathogenesis of AF.Methods: 40 rats were randomized to 4 groups: normal control group, model group, Dingxin capsule curatio group, Verpamil intervention group. mRNA express level of Ca2+-ATPase and Cx40 of AF rats were measured.Results: The results showed that mRNA express level of Ca2+-ATPase of Dingxin capsule curatio group heightened more obviously than those from Verpamil intervention group. And mRNA express level of Cx40 of Dingxin capsule curatio group degraded more obviously than those from Verpamil intervention group.Conclusion: Ca2+-ATPase and Cx40 played important role in the pathogenesis of AF. Dingxin capsule could correct the mRNA express level of Ca2+-ATPase and Cx40 in AF rats.
