Objective:To compare the treatment results of interlockingintrameduUary nail and external fixation in tibia and fibula fracturesretrospectively.Method:Take the sixty cases into two groups. One group is treated withinterlocking intrameduUary nail, and the other group is treated withexternal fixation.Result:The interlocking intrameduUary nailed group have advantage oflower rate of infection over the external fixed group. But they do not havesignificant difference on the part of the time of healing and curativeeffection(P>0.05).Conclusion :Interlocking intrameduUary nail and external fixation areboth the efficient methods for the fracture of tibia and fibula. The methodof interlocking intrameduUary nail has the characteristics ofstability, fewer complications and higher rate of fracture recovery.Themethod of external fixation is easy to operate, and it has the characteristicof fewer injury, which is convenient for the open tibia and fibula fracturebesides the relatively higher rate of infection.
