Turtle Eight Methods Of Needle-based Clinical Efficacy Of The Treatment Of Obesity

Objective To evaluate the effect of acupuncture in weight reducing through zhengeri-fication and treatment combining with Linggui Bafa .To probe into a new method of acupuncture for slimming.Methods The 60 cases were randomly divided into two groups , one was control group treated with acupuncture through zhengeri-fication and treatment ,the other was treatment group treated with acupuncture through zhengeri-fication and treatment combining with Linggui Bafa. Body weight, body mass index ,fat rate ,quality of life, syndrome of TCM and others relevant were investigated before and after treatments.The results of this study are as follows:[1] The evaluation of curative effect: The effective rate of the treatment group (93.3%) was better than that of the control group. [2] The familiar concomitant symptoms of obese cases, excessive sleepness, fatigue, hyperphagia, constipation, irregular menses and so on, were all gradually alleviated or healed. [3] The main syndrome of TCM in adiposity was simultaneous occurrence of deficiency syndrome and excess syndrome. Its common five syndromes comprised insufficiency of the spleen and excess of damp, heat syndrome of stomach and intestine, stagnancy of the liver-qi, insufficiency of the spleen and kidney, internal heat due to deficiency of yin. Most cases had obvious effect at the beginning of treatment, then the body weight was shortly steady, and the body weight continued declining in the end. [4] All cases were remaining effective for three months after treatment, no one case rebounded. [5] The treatments were completed on 60 patients without side effects.Conclusion:[1] Acupuncture had true curative effect for slimming. To slim, the harmony of yin and yang was recovered through regulating qi-blood of the channels, managing the disorder viscera and bowels with acupuncture. [2] Acupuncture for slimming was cheap and convenient. It had no side effect and was able to be accepted by most cases. It was a satisfying method of treatment of adiposis. [3] Insufficiency of the spleen and excess of damp, heat syndrome of stomach and intestine, stagnancy of the liver-qi, insufficiency of the spleen and kidney, and internal heat due to deficiency of yin were the most common syndromes. [4] Acupuncture through zhengeri-fication and treatment combining with Linggui Bafa was a treatment mehod of TCM based on etiology and the changes of time. It had obvious curative effect, and was a scientific treatment which is worth delivering widely in weight reducing.
