Ningxiang County, 1981 And 2005 Maternal Mortality Levels And Cause Analysis

Objective: This paper described the level of maternal mortality and the cause of death changes in the law in Ningxiang county through studing and analysis the pregnant and lying-in women in ningxiang county from 1981 to 2005, so as to improve the quality of maternal and child health and better control of the formulation of maternal mortality interventions provide scientific reference.Methods: This study used the retrospective survey analysis in the researching of 240 pregnant and lying-in women's death case reports and year reports in Ningxiang county. Input the date use SPSS13.0 software descriptive statistics and correlation analysisResults: the number of live births is 367,260 cases and 240 cases of maternal mortality in 25 years from 1981 to 2005 in Ningxiang county, maternal mortality rate is 65.35/10 10000, there is a clear downward trend in 25 years. The first three cause of death were for obstetric hemorrhage, Hypertensive diseases of pregnancy. amniotic fluid embolism in 25 years. direct obstetric causes accounted for 88.8% of total deaths. Obstetric hemorrhage is the first causes of death in each stage, maternal mortality locations obvious changes, while the number of maternal deaths reduction at home or on the way to hospital by-stage, and maternity death gradually occupy the largest share in the township hospitals or county hospital. Vaginal delivery technology reduce by-stage but the number of maternal mortality by cesarean section is on the rising trend of the total deaths. Maternal mortality is concentrated in 24 hours in postpartum, it is higher the death risk of the perinatal of maternal deaths too.Conclusion: 1. the maternal mortality rate of the Ningxiang County is a downward trend in 25 years. 2.The first three reasons of death were obstetric hemorrhage, Hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, amniotic fluid embolism, the same order as the cause of the nation Obstetric hemorrhage is the first causes of death in each stage, .3,increase the hospitalized delivery rate is the key measures to reduce the maternal mortality rate in the previous stage. current, Maternal mortality location transferred and the way of delivery has changed, the death proportiong of floating population was tending increase..
