Alisma Soup Experimental Study On Lipid-lowering Effects In Hyperlipidemic Rats

Objective:Observe the effect of the Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome soup on the blood fat and relevant index of the hyperlipidemia rats; discuss the theory and experiment basis of the prescription to the hyperlipidemia.Method:60 Wister rats in health, half male, half female, were divided randomly into six groups, ten one group: normal control group, model group, masculine comparison group, Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome soup high dose group (Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome high group for short), Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome soup moderate dose group (Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome moderate group for short), Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome soup low dose group (Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome low group for short). Rats in the normal control group were raised the common forage, the other groups' the high fat forage. The Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome high, moderate and low groups were poured the decoction at doses of 16.2g/kg, 8.1g/kg, 4.05g/kg respectively, the evening primrose seed oil group at dose of 0.4g/kg, and the normal control group and the model group were poured the physiological saline solution at dose of 10ml/kg after 15 days. During the period, the other groups except the normal control group were raised the high fat forage continuously. After 30 days fasted for 24 hours, phlebotomized 2.5ml from femoral artery, separated serum and measured TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C; phlebotomized 3ml again and put into condensing-resistance test tube for hemorheology, at the same time, obtained the rat's liver slice for pathology observation.Results:The levels of the serum TC, TG, LDL-C, whole blood viscosity (high middle low), plasma viscosity and red-cell specific volume of the rats in the model group are higher than those in the normal control group obviously (P<0.01, P<0.001), while the level of the serum HDL-C is lower (P<0.01); the levels of the serum TC, TG, LDH-C, whole blood viscosity (high middle low), plasma viscosity and red-cell specific volume of the rats in Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome high, moderate groups and the masculine comparison group are lower than those in the model group (P<0.05 , P<0.01or P<0.001), while the level of the serum HDL-C is higher (P<0.05 ). Whereas the low dose of the Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome soup makes no effect on the above case. The pathology slice examination shows: the liver tissue organization of the rats in normal comparison group is normal and the hepatic lobules of them are well-arranged without liquid droplets; in model group, there is a lot of steatosis: liver cell swells and there are various liquid droplets, while the liver steatosis degree of the rats in the treated groups is slighter than those in the model group, showing few droplets. Pathological examination alleviates the organic denaturalization of the liver cell.Conclusion:Oriental Waterplantain Rhizome soup can cure the hyperlipidemia safely and effectively and should be applied and popularized in clinical case.
