Cough Dog Day Posted Clinical Research, Prevention And Treatment Of Asthma In Children

Objective: To observe the clinical effect and the influence on IgE,EOS, IL-4,IFN-γofKeChuanSanFuTie(CKSFT)- pastes by applying on the points (Dazhui,Dingchuan,Feishu,Pishu, Shenshu) to children patients in the asthma remission phase in the dogdays. Researching its possible function mechanism of KeChuanSanFuTie-pastes toprevent and control the asthma through the acupoint application.Providing thetheoretical and clinical basis for the promoted use of acupoint application in order toprevent and control asthma.Methods:1.Methods of treatment: 120 patients (All came from out-patients in PediatricsDepartment of Wuhan Hospital of TCM from July 2005 to July 2006)were randomlydivided into three groups: KeChuanSanFuTie (CKSFT)- pastes treatmentgroup(treatment group),Western SiQikang prevention and treatment group(comparison group),blank comparison group(blank group), 40 cases in each group.Treatment group was carried acupoint application in the dog days.Accupcturepoints(Dazhui,Dingchuan,Feishu,Pishu, Shenshu) on the tenth day, 24 hours pertime,altogether three times. KeChuanSanFu-pastes were composed by HerdraMastard,Herba Ephedrae, Herba Santalum etc.They were ground to the powder andsoaked in the oil,and were refined to the electuary ointment that was produced byMedical Preparation Department of Wuhan Hospital of TCM.Comparison group:Separately giving intramuscular injection Si Qikang 1mg or 2mg according to the ageeach time, twice a week, for three months.After this treatment,the other treatment hadnot been carried.Blank group:Any treatment had not been executed to the patients inthe asthma remission phase.All patients, would be carried the treatment of theanti-infection,controlling astham if the diseases occurred.2.Methods of observation:The course was a year,from July 2005 to July2006,before acupoint application.The children patients were called on two times onthe course. The observation goals are: (1) The clinical syndrome:All selected cases were demanded to explain thesymptoms and the treatment situation before the treatment.They were called on twotimes regularly after the treatment.To observate the frequency and degree of asthmaand flu taken place and the situation of cough,respite,sleep and energy etc.when theasthma occurred in this year.(2)The examination of the lever of EOS,IgE,IL-4 and IFN-γ:All selected cases weredemanded to examine the lever of the EOS,IgE,IL-4 and IFN-γ, before and after thetreatment,altogether two times.(3)Safety inspection:To observate the harmful reaction if fever, epistaxis,rash anduncontrolling mood occurred in the course of treatment.Result:1. The graduation in three groups were compared before and after thetreatment:the treatment group was without significant difference comparing with theother two groups before the treatment by statistical analysis(P＞0.05),and distinctivelydifference comparing with before the treatment and the blank group(P＜0.05orP＜0.01),without significant difference comparing with comparinggroup(P＞0.05).2. The graduation of different degree,old and syndrome of the children patientswere compared before and after the treatment in the treatment group:they werewithout significant difference of the graduation before the treatment in the differentdegree,old and syndrome of the children patients group(P＞0.05).There wasdistinctively difference after the treatment comparing with before thetreatment(P＜0.05).3. The level of IgE and EOS were examinted before and after the treatment: thetreatment group was without significant difference comparing with the other twogroups before the treatment by statistical analysis(P＞0.05).There was distinctivelydifference comparing with before the treatment and the blank group(P＜0.05orP＜0.01).Without significant difference comparing with comparinggroup(P＞0.05). 4. The level of IL-4 and IFN-γwere examinted before and after the treatment: thetreatment group was without significant difference comparing with the other twogroups before the treatment by statistical analysis(P＞0.05).There was distinctivelydifference comparing with before the treatment and the blank group(P＜0.05 orP＜0.01).5. Safety analysis: The harmful reaction (fever,epistaxis,rash and uncontrollingmood etc.)had not been found.Conclusions:KeChuanSanFuTie-pastes through the acupoint application in the dog days canremarkably reduce the frequency, lighten the degree of asthma and flu taken place. Itcan remarkably suppress EOS to infiltrate, depress the level of IL-4 and increase thelevel of IFN-γ,balance Th1/Th2,reduce the collection of the infectious cell, control therelease of infectious medium, suppress the compound of IgE, reduce the gas channelinfectious reaction.It can adjust the immunity of the asthma children,and enhancethe resistivity of children patients.It would reach the goalto prevent athma.It is agood therapy for children patients in the asthma remission phase,meanwhile lowermedical cost and has a good social performance.
