Objective:Through observing changes of hemodynamic and BIS response during long time lumbar spine surgery in middle-age and elderly with different effective target concentration of sufentanil coinfusion with propofol. We thought to determine the optimal effective target concentration of sufentanil for middle-age and elderly undergoing lumbar spine surgery. Methods:Sixty ASAI~III patients undergoing lumbar spine surgery randomly divided into 3 groups according to the effective target concentration of sufentanil:A,B,C which were administered 0.2ng/ml,0.4ng/ml,0.6ng/ml. We performed intubation after administered propofol and sufentanil 5 minute. The effective target concentration of sufentanil and propofol maintained after infusion.Sufentanil was stoped 1 hour before operation was over. HR,MAP,BIS were recorded duing the operation.Results:1.HR,MAP decreased after sufentanil and propofol infused in 3 groups especially in group c.BIS decreased in 3 groups but no significant difference. 2.HR,MAP increased after intubation, then decreased to the level of preintubation at 4 or 5 minutes after intubaion and there were significance different in 3 groups.but the changs of BIS were no differently in 3 groups. 3 .HR,MAP were maintain more steady state in group C during operation.BIS were no differently in 3 groups during operation. 4.The effective target concentration of sufentanil when beginning breath and self breath and awake were 0.17ng/ml,0.15ng/ml,0.13ng/ml.Conclusion:The effective target concentration of sufentanil coinfusion propofol whose middle-age and elderly undergoing lumbar spine surgery are 0.4ng/ml,3ug/ml.
