Buzhongyiqi soup from the Chinese Jin Dynasty Li Dongyuan "Topic of the spleen and stomach",which is the treatment of the spleen and stomach Qi,Yang Qing,and it is the basis prescription for treatment high fever with drugs of sweet flavour and warm nature.It is recognized as one of today's top ten Prescriptions.It is well know that the Buzhongyiqi soup have extensive clinical applications.According to statistics,it used to treatment 107 kinds of diseases,including Internal medicine,surgery,department of gynaecology,paediatrics,dermatological department,facial features section,andrology etc.clinical every section.The following six aspects were deeply explored here after a delayed review on literatures related to Buzhong Yiqi Deoction(BZYQT).They are Compatibility significance of BZYQD;Action,indication and its clinical application;influence of other doctors and medical worlds; BZYQD's influence on medicine;meaning of "Yin—fine";different effect of modification of BZYQD with Fuling(poria).And to emphasize the last two aspects.1.Compatibility significance of BZYQD:Drugs of reinforcing qi is mainly used with drugs of ascending as assistance.The ascending action is combined with reinforcing action to help drugs of sweet and warm natule to lift yang and collapse as well as remove dampness.The main drugs are of sweet and warm nature to reinforce the spleen with little Shengma(Rhizoma Cimicifugae)andChaihu(Bupleurum chinense),little Chenpi(Dried Tangerine peel)and Danggui(Chinese Angelica)of regulating qi and blood are used to negulate the movement of qi upwaids and down wards and replenish without stagnation as well.Literature review showed that Li Dong Yuan stresses the motion of spleen and stomach qi:the prescriptions were mainly consisted of drugs with lifting spleen yang action.2.Action,indication and clinical application:the original BZYQD was to reinforce in middle and lift yang.It was originally indicated to syndrome of spleen and stomach qi deficiency,collapse due to qi deficiency,fever due to qi deficiency.Later the indications was widened with the main action of reinforcing qi and spleen,lifting yang and collapse. The main pathogenesis was still spleen and stomach qi deficiency and collapse due to qi deficiency.Modern clinical application is the original decoction,modified one and combined with other decoctions.Generally, BZYQD is mainly for qifen disease,blood—fen disease,body fluid disorders,essence disorders,collapse of viscera.3.The writer found out that BZYQD is wider the guidance of Neijing and influence of zhang Yuansu,idea of "repienishing stomach qi".Zhang Zhongjing holds that qi and blood derived from food and spleen and stomach is to be emphasized tie persists in reinforcing spleen and stomach is to be emphasized the persists in reinforcing spleen and stomach with drugs of sweet and warm nature.His idea exert great influence on the development of BZYQD.At the same time,Li Dongyuan holds that spleen and stomach is the source of Yuan-qi and Yuan-qi is the base of body.Therefore it will be reduced if the spleen and stomach qi and further lead to disease.The compatible principle follows "Neijing" warming the exhaustoin and replenishing the deficiency.He also emphasizes the action of spleen and stomach in movement.Shengma(Rhizoma Cimicifugae)and Chaihu(Bupleurum chinense)are added to strengthen the drugs function of lifting yang and collapse as well as removing dampness on the basis of drugs of reinforcing qi and spleen.4.BZYQD influenced a lot on medicine especially on the warming Reinforcing School and Stomach-Yin Theory by its idea of"international impairment of spleen and stomach" and "ascending and descending ation of spleen and stomach.Doctors as Wang haogu,Xue Lizhai,Gong Tingxian as so on carried on Li Dongyuan,Spleen and Stemach Theory.BZYQD has been so effective that it still guide clinical practice and TCM theory and prescriptions.It is meaningful and clinically valuable for indicating therapeutic principle of syndrome of Zhong qi collapse generally and the basic compatibility.5.The writer studied "Yin-fire" theory of Li Dongyuan for the original one was not clearly illustrated.The result of literature study showed that most doctor thought in the following way of "Yin-fire"(1) Heat due to blood deficiency;(2)Retention fire due to Zhongqi collapse of qi deficiency;(3)Transforming fire of pathogenesis invasion due to spleen and stomach deficiency;(4)Transforming heat of stagnation due to dampness dock of qi deficiency;(5)Outflowing of deficient yang; (6)Internal heat due yin deficiency derived from qi deficiency.The writer hold that "Yin—fire" is a comprehensive result of improper diet,over exhaustion and extensive emotional stimulation.The spleen and stomach qi would be the first to be attached and become deficient.The descending and ascending action is then affected and leads to imbalance of qi and fire. The internal heat is then followed.Generally speaking,"Yin—fire" derives from middle energizer,occurs in lower energizer with triple energizer involved.This idea provides further evidence for Li Dongyuan theory that "Yin—fire" is kidney—fire,spleen—fire,stomach—fire, heart—fire and lung—fire.6.For the modification of BZYQD,Fuling(poria)is usually the first choice for clinical practice.Besides,It is added in large dosage from 15—30gm.However this might not be suitable for such a dosage.On one hand,BZYQD concentrates on sweet and reinforcing action,but Fuling(poria)is of bland and removing dampness,which will further impair spleen_yang.That,why Li Dongyuan said that "the heavy will impair the yang" On the other hand,the application of Fuling(poria)is closely related to ascending in spring,floating in summer,descending in autumn and store in winter.Therefore it is advisable of Fuling(poria)is of small dosage in spring and summer and suitable more in autumn and winter.In short,this article expounded "Yin—fine" and it's modification. The connotation of "Yin—fine" is elucidated and the modification of Fuling(poria)is settled down.Thus,It may of help in clinical practice.
