In Jingui Yaolve, Zhang Zhongjing, put different diseases together and established this therapeutic principle which originates from Neijing. Later, this principle was enriched and applied to more clinical practice.This research is to established a database related to Wuling Power with mathematical statistics by collecting related diseases, symptoms, tongue manifestions, pulse manifestions, key syndromes and ingridients.The results showed that Wuling Power can be applied to almost 125 diseases, involving diseses of digestion, urology, dermatology, respiration, neurology, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology, angiocardiopathy, ophthalmology, pediatrics, traumatology, stomatology and so on. The diseases is mainly diarrhea, edema and the symptoms of frequent difficulty in micturition. The tongue manifestions are mainly bland tongue, whiting coating. Pulse manifestion are mainly sink, thready and thin. Medicine research showed that the five ingredients appeared frequently and for the modified one, the licorice root is usually applied. Pinellia Tuber and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae are of the second and third place.Diarrhea and edema are mostly encountered diseases treated by Wuling Powder, therefore, the related medical cases about them are collected and studied for the law and characteristics of Wuling Power "treating different diseases with the same therapy".The key syndrome of diarrhea and edema are dampness and is treated from the aspects of spleen usually with original Wuling Power. The communicating yang and transforming qi function of Ramulus Cinnamomi is strengthened to remove water-retention and relieve swelling.
