Objective: Evaluating objectively the clinical efficacy and safety of Xiaoi Yang Fang in treating Diabetes pruritus with the syndrome of deficiency of Qi and Yin and accumulation of toxic heat.Methods: Adopting experimental methods of random and control, 60 eligible patients were divided into treatment group(30 cases) and control group (30 cases). Treatment group was administered with the basic treatment and decoction of Chinese medicinal herbs, and the control group with the basic treatment and combined loratadine with Cetirizine hydrochloride. 2 weeks as one therapeutic course, last two courses. Compared the integration of clinical symptoms of TCM about Diabetes, pruritus symptoms and signs before and after treatment between the two groups.Results: Both the effective rates of clinical symptoms of TCM about Diabetes and pruritus symptoms and signs in treatment group are superior to the control group. About the integration of pruritus symptoms and signs, there are statistical significant differences between before and after treatment of two groups, the treatment grouop's integration was broken down more obviously. There are statistical significant difference about the treatment group between treating with one course and two courses, and the integration was broken down more obviously. But there was no difference about the control group. It means the therapeutic effect of the control group's second course is not obvious. There are statistical significant differences between treatment and control group after one and two courses. About the the integration of clinical symptoms of TCM of Diabetes, There are statistical significant differences between before and after one course treatment of two groups. It means both the two groups are effective, and the treatment group is better. There were statistical significant differences between treatment and control group about one and two courses treatment. And the difference about two course treatment was more obvious. It means the therapeutic effect of treatment is better.Conclusion: XYF has the effect that improving the clinical symptom of Diabetes pruritus with the syndrome of deficiency of Qi and Yin and accumulation of toxic heat. It is asafe and effective. The research explans XYF's mechanism. It also reflects the thoughts of Entirety connotation and treat both Bao and Ben in TCM.
