Objectives:By using the fuzzy synthesis risk evaluation, we managed to establish a set of quantitative risk assessment method in order to evaluate the occupational hazards produced by small and medium chemical enterprises.This method can be applied to risk assessment with multi-index evaluation for small and medium chemical enterprises producing occupational hazards.Methods:Firstly, we established a risk-factor index system for evaluate occupational hazard and established a fuzzy evaluation criteria, suitable for medium and small chemical companies. For this, we read relevant laws, regulations and criterions for evaluating occupational hazards, conducted occupational scene investigation in small and medium chemical enterprises and then consulted experts, identified the risk assessment indexes step by step. Secondly, we determined the weights of indexes at all levels using AHP method, introduced random coincidence rate(CR) in order to inspect the consistency within each factors.In the end,we made a fuzzy comprehensive risk assessment for chemical enterprises (plastic plants and coal gas plants).Results:we preliminarily established a risk-factor index system for evaluate occupational hazard and established a fuzzy evaluation criteria, suitable for medium and small chemical companies. Multiple perspectives were taken into account within the system (such as the general location and layout, production processes and usage of raw and auxiliary materials, occupational hazards protective measures, protective equipments for personal use of occupational diseases, architectural hygiene and auxiliary rooms, occupational health management, occupational hazard prevention and control emergency,occupational health checks), which reflects the elements of small and medium chemical enterprises occupational health.The combination of analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was applied to occupational hazard risk assessment for small and medium chemical enterprises. the matrix combined with the consistency test for evaluation of system factors in the weight distribution, obtained evaluation criteria.We obtained the risk level of the two small chemical enterprises on occupational hazards through on the-spot Occupational Hygiene investigation and occupational hazards experimental results for the applied cases, combined with the weight of evaluation factors, the matrix calculation.By our method,we reached a conclusion that the risk level of the two small chemical enterprises on occupational hazards is sixth and second. Conclusions:(1)we preliminarily established a risk-factor index system for evaluate occupational hazard, suitable for medium and small chemical companies, synthetically analyzed the effects of various occupational-hazard factors on workers' physical health; (2) As it can be seen from two examples, the results is consistent with objective circumstances and is more specific and targeted when compared with the traditional qualitative evaluation methods; (3)We preliminary consider "very small, small, smaller" to be "slight" level in actual occupational hazard classification, "medium" to be "ordinary" "great, greater, and large" to be " serious ";(4)After analyzing the problems, we can take appropriate measures to prevent the occurrence of occupational hazards.
