Premature ovarian failure (POF) refers to that the women younger than 40 years old have ovarian failure due to the depletion of follicles within ovarian or because of latreognic causes. With low estrogen and high gonadotrophin, it mainly appears as secondary amenorrhea, often accompanied by perimenopausal symptoms[1]. The name of the disease is not recorded in traditional medicine, nevertheless its feather is quite similar with "closures on the water first," "back off by the water". Fu Shan called it "no-year old by the first break," and should be classified to traditional Chinese medicine, "amenorrhea", "sterility", "Xueku", "Blood Divided", "before breaking through the various cards" areas. Generally it is believed that the pathogenesis of this disease is caused by kidney essence deficiency, and the treatment should mostly use kidney essence of the law to fill. Professor Ying Chen believes that premature ovarian failure is caused by kidney essence deficiency, and also related to the malfunction of the liver and spleen. Meanwhile Yin deficiency will cause stasis. The disease belongs to deficiency in origin and excess in superficislity and is mainly due to deficiency in origin. Therefore the treatment should mainly nourish kidney, accompanied by strengthening the spleen, nourishing the liver as well as activating blood and dissolving stasis. My supervisor works as clinical instructor for many years and has much experience in the treatment of premature ovarian failure. She prepared"climacteric-syndrome-relieving tablet"by herself and has achieved good efficiency.
