Blooding desease is a unique term of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which has different names in the different period of the history. For example, it was called the blood oozing in the Medical Classic of the Yellow Emperor , hematemesis, rhinorrhagia, and hematochezia in Synopsis of Golden Chamber, Blooding disease the first usage in Yu Tuan's Orthodox Medical Record of Ming dynasty. The concept of Blooding disease has generalized meaning and narrowed meaning, the former one involves the diseases related to the quality, quantity or abnormal changes of the blood in circulation. While the latter one involves the diseases related to the bleeding caused by the deficient qi failing to control blood or the burning of fire causing extravasation of blood in the nose and mouth, or in anal and genital orifices, or in the skin, featuring by hemorrhage (unphysiologic hemorrhage) as the clinical manifestations of the disease. A variety of acute and chronic diseases related to bleeding in Modern medicine referred to blood disease of TCM.The development of blood disease theories experienced a long historical period. It originated in the Zhou and Qin dynasty, formed in Han dynasty and developed in Qing dynasty. In the 2,000 years from pre-qin period to modern time, the Chinese physicians through long-term practices and clinical observations gradually improved the diagnosing and discriminating rules, accumulated rich clinical experiences.This thesis investigates the blooding disease from the words related blood oozing in The Medical Classic of the Yellow Emperor pre-qin period makes a detailed discussion about its origins and development. From clearing, reinforcing and warming therapies of Zhongjing to the modern time, many Chinese physicians emphasis the therapy of promoting blood circulation and eliminating blood stasis.The theories about its name, classification, diagnosis and treatment varied in different historical periods, some contents of which were not used any longer, some have been used until now. Through summarizing the Chinese physicians'experiences and lessons, make its development rules more clear, which can promote the development of these theories about blood disease of TCM, and guild the clinical practice through the combination of the Chinese medicine theory and West Medicine.
