From the course perspective, the author has "surveyed" the vocational colleges' melodrama appreciation course renewedly. And a brave exploration on the extra-curricular teaching practice of the course has been carried out. The author has designed the new "classroom instruction+extra-curricular practice "teaching model. This paper consists of four sections. In section one, the author has been expecting to find out the existing problems and has given advices to solve them through investigating and analyzing the opening situation of melodrama appreciation course in the five vocational colleges from Jiangsu province. In section two, how to conduct a classroom teaching reform of the mentioned problems has been discussed in detail, which aims at teaching of the current vocational colleges' melodrama appreciation course. In section three, a proposal regarding how to develop an extra-curricular teaching practice of melodrama appreciation course in vocational colleges has been put forward. The final section is an exposition to the necessity of the course in vocational colleges.Basing on practical survey, and taking the melodrama appreciation course in Nanjing college of chemical technology as a sample, the paper probes into the teaching and the practice of melodrama appreciation course in current china's vocational colleges, being coupled with the reality of other vocational colleges in Jiangsu. Meanwhile, the author is trying to promote the healthy development of melodrama appreciation course in general vocational colleges, giving a full play to the potential educational function of it.
