What seems most important to majority of the people, at present is constant improvement of material living standards. Such an environment does not leave much space to stop and have a good look at ourselves. Performing arts are not an exception, profit led activity, and attitude of raising high walls, boxing off the real meaning of who we are.In recent years, "U Theatre", performing troupe from Taiwan, became famous for their simplicity and catharsis. Liu Ruo-yu, the founder and the artistic director of "You Ren Sheng Gu", is following a way marked up by Polish theater guru Jerzy Grotowski's which started in his "Objective Drama" project. In actor's training process, she uses most basic movements - in particular - walking, along with exercises to break the habits, and "living the moment" concept. It all sums up in the idea, of unity of body and mind. This idea evolved in "Waking tour" project. In this thesis, "Walking tour" project is taken as a starting point, to see the greatness of simplicity of "U Theatre" which shows how training of basic skills can be a tool to learn principles of performing art and a way for selfs development.
