Wang Yangming's philosophy is one of the most important thoughts of Chinese ancient philosophy. His philosophy aiming to maintain the stability of feudal society embodies the inner spirit and basic theory of Chinese ancient philosophy. Different from previous Li Monism and Mind Monism philosophy thinking, Wang Yangming inherits the Song-Ming Neo Confucianism theory, practicing his own understanding as the basis, puts forward the unity of body and mind and builds his own unique philosophy theory. In the context of the Chinese ancient philosophy, this article analyzes Wang Yangming's theory of the relationship of body and mind. In the first place, we give a brief review of the theory development. In the early Qin dynasty, the concept of Body is first established from the Qi expounded Body. Explain from the Neo-Confucianism' Li Monism in Song-Ming period to Lu Jiuyuan's Mind Monism, and finally to the concept of body and mind during Wang Yangming's philosophy, known the alternate action of body and mind, this article focuses on Wang Yangming's topic about the unity of body and mind.In the second place, by building the system of Wang Yangming's theory, we analyze the influences from two different dimensions body and mind exert on their relationship respectively. First, according to the proposition of 'mind decides representation', everything is dominated by mind. And representation can in turn help to discern right and wrong. Second, in Wang Yangming's theory, good faith is the very first essence. By aiming to be good and investing things, the morality activities can be finally promoted. As to body, serving as the embodiment of mind, it reflects the mind and has two dimensions as well. One is the vehicle of the morality mind and the other is the carrier of cognition mind. The first dimension means that conscience can be reasonable only by repeated practice. The second dimension refers to that the mind gets cognition through perception to things around us. Body and mind are inseparable. Finally, this article evaluates on some philosophical questions about Wang Yangming's theory of the relationship of body and mind.Wang Yangming's philosophy has two important influences. It epitomizes the philosophy of mind in Song-Ming period and leads to the discussion of relationship of body and mind in later ages. Research on Wang Yangming's philosophy has an important guiding role to the relationship of body and mind in Chinese traditional culture.
