Chinese Painting Color Concept Of The Evolution

With a unique style and a long history, traditional Chinese paintings are the original painting art of the Chinese nation. Since Opium War in the late Qing Dynasty, with the constant importation of Western culture, our fellow coutrymen began to criticize our traditional culture unceasingly. From the early Westernization Movement, later the New Culture Movement, then to socialism, which copied from the Soviet Union-the leader of socialism at that time-at the opening stage of the founding of the PRC, and then to the New Student Movement in the early stage of Reform and Open to the Outside World, the traditional culture of the Chinese nation is constantly denied by Western culture, and the traditional color values of the Chinese nation are gradually being attacked and even being rewritten by the so-called "scientific" concept of the Western world. This is an objective existence of a kind of social phenomenon.Today, China has made great progress in politics and economy. Our society is no longer the former one, which is regressive, weak and always being bullied. What's more, we need to compete with the powerful nations, not only in economy, but also in culture. Therefore we began to reflect on that whether our own culture is really lagging behind the Western culture or not, and this reflection can be seen from all aspects of society. As a graduate student majored in Chinese painting, I'm proud of the times I live in. Because after a brief period of twists and turns, our traditional culture will inevitably have a remarkable leap. And this leap is based on our correct understanding of our traditional culture concepts and our absorbing of the Western painting concepts. Through analyzing and summarizing the theories and phenomena of the modern concepts of the traditional color value, this paper will sum up the development of the color concept of Chinese painting, and in order to clarify the aspects we should pay attention to in the future, this paper will also make a rational analysis of the future of color values.
