The relationship between the audience and the actors has been always a heated topic in theatre directors. The dissertation falling into 6 parts (including 5 chapters and 1 appendix) puts its focus on the discussion of that relationship. In the 1st chapter, the forming of that relationship during the pre-theatre period is the argumentative point. While in the 2nd chapter, the basic elements such as actors, audience and the space which can lead to the exploration of the relationship is the exploration of theatre itself. We should not arbitrarily reconstruct the relationship of the two. The analysis on the unique theatre space, the dynamic communication of actors and the audience is the main point of chapter 3 while the next chapter put its focus on the different kinds of theatre performance. Chapter 5 is the core of the whole dissertation which included the charts to show that the relationship between the actors and audience is the crucial element of a piece theatre. The exploration of the relationship should be around the audience, actors and the space. We should not mistake the theatre itself for the origins of it because when the theatre itself does not exist, the discussion of the relationship becomes meaningless. The training approach, training contents and the performance all come from the British Master Class of Director 2010 in the appendix wanted to link the practice and the theory together. The dissertation not only gives some thoughts on the continuing exploration of the relationship, but also be helpful to the theatre creation on nowadays theatre directors. All in all, the research of the relationship between the actors and the audience is the everlasting subject to every theatre directors.
