Yunnan Folk Art Design Elements Yunnan Contemporary Oil Painting

The styles of Yunnan folk art, whose cultural values and artistic charm have been the resources of contemporary local artists, are varied and unique in color and form.A number of regional and individual art language styles with distinctive features have been developed by a group of local oil painters by means of absorbing cultural nutrients in the local art. Among these local artists, Zeng Xiaofeng and Chen Liu, the epitome of Yunnan local oil painting artists between different generations, have a certain influence upon the contemporary Yunnan oil painting by their unique oil painting expressing languages. Taking the characteristics and the current situation of the contemporary Yunnan local oil paintings as breakthrough point, this paper analyzes the art expressing languages of Zeng Xiaofeng and Chen Liu, the connection between these languages and Yunnan folk art, the comparison between their art styles, as well as the thoughts about the artists'creation based on the local artistic culture.
