Among all the international relationships in Europe, the Franco-Soviet bilateral relationship is a fairly important one after the World War II. Yet, the research on it is rather weak: there are not much monographes and papers concerning this aspect abroad, and not any at home. In view of this, the paper probes preliminarily into some relevant problems, beginning with inspecting the development of the Franco-Soviet.Besides straight matter and concluding remarks, this paper consist of three parts.Part one: Seeing that the research to the Franco-Soviet relationship after the W.W.I I is comparatively weak, this part describes the development of their relationship at length, which is divided into four stage. According to the state of the development, three features are summarized simply: (1) The relationship of the Franco-Soviet has intricacy and complexity; (2) The development of the Franco-Soviet relationship revolves mainly round their country interests, not the ideology; (3) The development of the Franco-Soviet after the W.W.I I is in line with the international situation.Part two: This part analyses chiefly the influence of the American factor, German factor on the relationship of the Franco-Soviet. American influence lies in: (1) The well relationship of the Franco-Soviet at the end of the W.W.I I and the beginning period of the post-W.W.II was partly due to the contradiction of the Free Franco-American and Soviet-American; (2) The freezing relationship of the Franco-Soviet in 1947-1958 should be ascribedprimarily to the Cold War between American and Soviet, and to the France which has been brought into the strategic orbit of the Cold War with Soviet by American; (3) In 1960s and 1970s, the contradiction between France and American was very sharp, France needed associate with Soviet Union to resist American, Soviet Union wanted to drive a wedge between American and France. This made France and Soviet Union establish a type of special relationship; (4) American affected the relationship of the Franco-Soviet to a certain extent in 1980s. German infucence depends upon: (1) The main couse that Free France and Soviet concluded an agreement at the end of the W.W.II was that they needed each other to defeat the Facist German together; (2) The reason that the form of the Franco-Soviet league disappeared in the mid-1950s was that France supported the west Germany to rearm; (3) In the 1960s and 1970s, under the new situation, France and Soviet Union both needed to guard against the West Germany. This was the partial reason that the two countries had established a sort of special relationship. The French communist affected also the Franco- Soviet relationship at the beginning of the post-W. W. II to a certain degree.Part three: This part discusses simply the influence of the development of the Franco- Soviet relationship after the W.W.II on the international situation. First, the tense of the Franco- Soviet relationshiop could make the international situation, special in Europe, more drastic. Second, the well relationship of the Franco-Soviet would relax the tensly international situation.
