Cross-Cultural Psychology is becoming a chief branch of General Psychology and Developmental Psychology. In China ,the study of Cross-Cultural Psychology is very important and meaningful. China is a country of multi-nationalities. And each nationality has its own language, religion, custom and its particular cultural background. Psychological characteristics of communities grow up in various background are quite different.From the aspect of Developmental Psychology, the thesis aims to analyze the differences of Tibetan and Han college students in psychological characteristics . The subjects are mainly Han college students from four colleges in Shanghai and Tibetan college students from four colleges in Qinghai . These Tibetan students come from Tibet, Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai. They can speak Chinese and Tibet in daily life.Based on questionnaires, the thesis analyzes from five phases: cognitive characteristic, ability characteristic, emotional characteristic, will characteristic, attitude and personality.The result of the research is that Han and Tibetan college students have similarities in psychological characteristics , but also there are some differences:(1) In cognition, Tibetan students are slower than Han students in memory speed.Han students' independence in thought and flexibility are better than Tibetan students.(2) In ablity, Han students have stronger sense of mathematics and space.(3) In emotion, Tibetan students are optimistic while Han students have rich and changeable feelings.(4) In will, Han and Tibetan students have no obvious differences.(5) In attitude and personality, Han students are modest, sympathetic and easy to get along with while Tibetan students prefer to take part in collective activities.
