The Character, The Lack Of Contemporary Chinese Popular Culture And Development Strategies

Since China has adopted the policy of reforming and opening to the world, it has been an attracting phenomenon on the development of the mass culture of contemporary China. By the transition of the society, great changes have been taking place in the politics, economics and culture in China. The mass culture of contemporary China has great function in social life, and it takes an important position in the system of socialist culture. However, we should not have a bias to any cultural phenomenon. From a dialectical viewpoint, we should realize that any phenomenon has both active and passive aspect. Therefore, to the mass culture of contemporary China, we should be aware of not only its positive affect in the socialist cultural construction, but also its negative influence.This thesis generalizes the characteristics of the mass culture of contemporary China. On the basis of analyzing the deficiencies of the mass culture of contemporary China, this thesis gives some proposals on how to push the construction of the mass culture of contemporary China forward.
