Japanese accessory word and auxiliary verb have obvious differences either in expressing meanings or practical language applications compared with nouns, verbs or, other words. In other words, Japanese accessory word, and auxiliary verb haven't some basic characteristics like other common words. On the contrary, they have some special features other common words haven't processed. In this article, on the basis of clarifying features of common words, the author will discuss this special feature of accessory word and auxiliary verb from their function, meaning, and phonetics these three aspects."Word", refers to a minimal unit combined by phonetics and semantic, which can be applied independently in language. Comparing "word", we can find out this special feature of accessory word and auxiliary verb.In practical language activities, Japanese accessory word and auxiliary verb can't be applied independently to form a sentence, they can only append to a word. Without objective object, they only can indicate the grammatical relation between this word appended by them and other words in one sentence, So they only have grammatical meaning but no lexical meaning. When they are pronounced, no pause of phone before them, and no fixed accent in themselves. In sum, what mentioned above all belongs to the features of Japanese accessory word and auxiliary verb. Therefore, what are accessory word and auxiliary verb? Even though a word has grammatical meaning to some extent, the grammatical meaningexpressed only by the word of its own form or the change of its form is very limited, far from meeting the need of our expression of thoughts. As a result, we can supplement a word's grammatical meaning if it is followed by accessory word and auxiliary verb. Consequently, I think Japanese accessory word and auxiliary verb are key elements for forming the grammatical aspect as well as a morpheme for supplementing the grammatical meaning of a word.
