| In ancient China, the ruling class greatly emphasized on edifying the civilians. On specific historical conditions, some edifications advanced social development, some of them made the society fall into chaos. The active policy of social edification taken by Kangxi emperor (1654-1722) promoted Kang-Qian Prosperous Era . As the government base of money and food, Jiangnan region was the central area of edification. To a certain extent, edification in Jiangnan region was the miniature of the social edifications at that time.Based on former scholars' study, this dissertation mainly uses the methods and theory of social history for reference, introducing and deeply analyzing the background and situation of social edification of Jiangnan region during the reign of Kangxi emperor (Qing Dynasty). Paying more attention to analyze the historical background in Jiangnan region, the principal way of implementation of social edification, and its' inevitable historic limitation. The implementation of the social edification was rely on the government and the civil. The governmental social edification mainly means that through activities of different levels' officer and schools, carrying out edification purpose of central government. On the other hand, the civil edification mainly means through the civil forces in charge of different kinds of edification, e.g. different kinds of philanthropic activities, benevolent books, clan and civil religion, etc they all mean a lot to the exertion of the social edification utility. |
