Value Recognized Different

Value is the central content of culture. Under the background of globalization, conflicts of values can be considered as conflicts between different cultures and civilizations. Conflicts of values show various forms, including conflicts between values of national states, especially the western and the nonwestern, and contradictions among various ideas, opinions and ideologies, such as conflicts of values in the ideological sphere, tension between economic globalization and consciousness of national state. Meanwhile, conflicts of values also show multileveled, hidden and practical features. Economic imbalance, universal alienation of international intercourse and feeling of universalism result in and intensify conflicting.Generally speaking, the ways of eliminating conflicting between different subjects include identification of values and seeking universal values, which has mostly centered on the western values and try to universalize them, however. It is unfair for the nonwestern nations, and obviously it does harm to human peace and development. Globalization is a process of assimilation and diversity as well. Basically speaking, the final aim of globalization is not realizing of merging the world into an organic whole, but that of each nation's modernization through taking part in the world "games" as a sovereign state. If the nonwestern world want to realize modernization, they must act on their own way, not copy the western values, practice and system. Owing to different interests, cultural backgrounds and value aims, each nation wishes to locate itself in destiny and future, which results in recognition of differences.Subjectivity of values is the prerequisite of recognition of differences; Dialectical unity of universality and peculiarity, sameness and difference of values is the theoretical basis; Different interest of different nation is the practical foundation. Therefore when dealing with conflicting of values, we must respect the self-developing of multi-cultural values and life styles, establish the inter-subject relationship of international intercourse by adhering to principle of equality. We must root principle of diversity to boost human civilization. We also consider principle of unity to seek harmonious cooperation featured diversity. Strengthening the understanding and tolerance of nations and countries, widening various ways of linking may be the only hope in rescuing human civilization.
