Study Of Body Philosophy And Its Contemporary Value

The relation between thinking and being is the basic question in modern philosophy. Engels ever definited the basic question of modern philosophy, which shows that body, as a kind of being, is closely related to the development of thinking and is inevitably the foundation of the existence of thinking. Undoubtedly, the development of human beings bases on the development of human body. Only when the potential of body is developed can our culture and society make great progress which may lead to the entire development of human beings. In this sense human body is forever the factor of human beings' development. It also manifests that it is the restricted factor development of the human race.Since the 1980s, "the body", which was ever easily neglected, has attracted people's more and more attention aiong with the rapid development of global consumer culture, science and technology. If philosophy wants to consider "the life world", it has no alternative but to pay attention to the contemporary humanity's body phenomenon, and must response under the new philosophy linguistic environment to such questions as the relations between thinking and being, body and mind, shape and spirit, subject and object, life and death, similarity and difference, and so on. It can be said that, "the body" has gradually become the newborn hot spot in the4humanities and social sciences research and "the new continent" containing much.Through historical investigation in the idea on body, observation on body phenomenon, analysis of the serial social functions deriving from body, and reconstruction on the body value, this article attempts to understand the body value and the location of body in the objective world more clearly, completely and dialectically.
