Research The. Huainanzi Of Yin And Yang Thought

This dissertation chooses the thoughts of Five Elements and Negative and Positive in Huai Nan Zi as the research targets.Based on the related inherent materials in Huai Nan Zi,I give detailed exposition and analysis on thoughts of Five Elements and Negative and Positive included in Huai Nan Zi ,and make corresponding academic appraisal on them.This dissertation consists of four parts altogether.The first part is Introduction.In this part,I review the achievement of preceding and contemporary scholars having made on Huai Nan Zi at first,so that I can prove its research value. In the second part ,I establish comparatively tangible academic background for the thoughts of Five Elements and Negative and Positive in Huai Nan Zi by introducing the development and research history of the thoughts of Five Elements and Negative and Positive during the pre-Qin period.In the actual accounts,I choose the initation of Negative and Positive,the thoughts of Five Elements advocated by the school of Confucianism named Si Meng and the thoughts of Five Elements advocated by Zou Yan as research targets, the others such as the thoughts of Five Elements embraced in Guan Zi, Lu 's Spring and Autumn and Chun Qiu Fan Lu, will be compared with the thoughts of Five Elements and Negative and Positive in Huai Nan Zi.As a result,they will not be discussed in the form of special subjects. The third part is the focal point of this dissertation.On one hand,I will refer to the connotation of the thoughts of Five Elements and Negative and Positive in Huai Nan Zi,it is proved that the thoughts Negative and Positive in Huai Nan Zi has tendency towards Taoism and the school of Zou Yan. The thoughts of Five Elements in Huai Nan Zi included two different aspects,namely the principle of the Five Elements producing and overcoming each other,it preserves different systems of the thoughts of Five Elements;On the other hand, I make detailed investigation on the thoughts of Five Elements embodied in culture life,especially the theory of matching by Five Elements,which not only does become the theory frame of the world view of Huai Nan Zi,but also results in the hipping of the thoughts of Five Elements.In the forth part,I mainly discuss the thoughts which advocates that Heaven and human will be related between each other.The compilers of Huai Nan Zi try to establish harmonious relationship among Heaven,Earth and human accord with law of nature in the way.
