Her novels show the grieve, anxiety and mercy of a Chinese abroad writer who was born in the poor family through observing the history, rewriting the war and delineating the abnormal love. She experienced the lower class of the society and cared the people who live in the marginal society and cities. Besides, in her novels, she gave them the rights to say using their own voice. She contains all the behavior, which does not obey the normal criterion, which made the humanity highly represent. Moreover, by survey the multiple cultures, her novels illuminated the humanity quite deeply and are distinct in comparing the Eastern and Western culture.Because of the hardship of living, the identity of bastard, the missing of father and the experience of stay abroad, the author herself are always in the"strange"position, with"homeless"both in mind and culture, which influenced her writing.
