Dai People's costumes and clothes patterns are one of the key forms of the decorative arts. The costumes' diverse forms, rich, unique distinctive, vivid characters demonstrated Dai People's life and aesthetic taste. Because living in the different environmental conditions, the Dai People creates different clothing styles and decorative features. It is the diversity of culture created the Chinese nation costumes pattern profound and fantastic. Its aesthetic and cultural value of the folk crafts results in the highly unique research value. Cultural arts and design disciplines plays an important research value and significance.This article focuses on the analysis of the Dai People's customs and their clothing patterns. At the same time it studies the aesthetic analysis and artistic formula. First of all by understanding Dai people's socio-economic, historical development, culture and folks, it's easier to know the background of the development of the Dai People's costumes and clothing patterns. Because of the differences of location and living environment Yunnan's Dai People have variety lineage of traditional costumes. Their costumes are divided into Xishuangbanna type, Dehong type , and the XinPing type of costumes. Therefore, the writer conducted different research and analysis according to different types of costumes. On the basis of understanding the various branches of the Dai costumes, this paper explored the Dai costume aesthetic value by analyzing the Dai costumes' color, pattern, material, and several other aspects of aesthetic aspects. On the other hand, addition to clothing, this paper also proposed that the apparel also includes Dai people's decoration on the clothes, such as: headgear, chest decoration, jewelry, back jewelry, lumbar wearing and other accessories which will be an unique logo designs by the smart Dai People. These decorations are divided by the theme into animals, plants, geometry. These data are collected and studied by breakdown of the clothing pattern. Dai logo apparel from the origin helped us to explore areas of Dai costume design by the implication of cultural connotation and the traditional sense. And the theory mentioned in the book "Art and Visual Perception" which is written by Rudolf·Arnheim are used as a guide to analyses the clothing pattern, modern aesthetic rules which applied to the composition and color from the aspects of these patterns characteristic of the art of doing a certain amount of study, Dai found costumes is not only decorative motifs but also has functional and practical, marking functions. Dai in the design and costumes do a certain amount of study to the foundation, nor has further explore their clothing, Today, in order to make better use of Dai's costumes and clothing patterns it should do a modern logo design for the merits by improving the essence and discard the dross. Explore Dai traditional costumes and logo on the impact of modern dress costumes is very important. At the same time, Dai costumes and logo plays the invaluable role in the modern art design and applications. It also found that the traditional Dai costumes and the application of it can help us to protect the Dai culture heritage and developed the modern art design.
