Republic Of Female Painting Study

Although the 1911 Revolution had not been able to change the condition of Chinese semicolonial and semifeudal society at that time,actually overthrew feudal monarchy in China,which has continued for 2000 years,and vacillated the feudalistic thinking morals system's foundation.Simultaneously the exchange between China and the west was more frequent and deeper.The western thought of equality,freedom,and democracy stroke root in the hearts of the people gradually.Society's transformation and the change of the thought has affected every Chinese society's corner at that time.Similarly the Republic of China time,the feudalistic thoughts in view of feminine such as "the three to be obeyed and the four feminine virtues","the female incapacity was morals"was under the unprecedented impact.The thoughts such as equality of the sexes has emerged gradually.The development of feminine drawings similarly was influenced the change of social thoughts.The purpose of the research was to discuss the change and the development of feminine drawings under the situation that the social thought changed,as well as the characteristic of feminine drawings in the Republic of China time compared with the ancient times and the same time West drawing presented.This research divides the feminine painters in the Republic of China time into three different types,namely:(1)Handing down the tradition.They handed down the tradition, imitated the ancient,but not like ancient times's feminine painters,whose theme was limited and technique was sole.And they innovated bravely and created a new appearance of traditional drawing.(2)Imitating the west,They entered the new style arts school to study western-style painting,even studied abroad to accept Western Master's guidance.They did not lose own characteristic during study western-style painting's,and made indelible contributions for the development of Chinese western-style painting.(3)Joining in the revolution.They put the paintbrush as a weapon,propagated revolutionary ideas by paintings,or straight put down paintbrush to join in the revolution,endow for the revolution.Because feminine drawing in the Republic of China time located a special historical period, presents its own characteristic.handed down the tradition,created a new appearance of the Chinese feminine drawing.The feminine drawing in the Republic of China time is an indispensable part of Chinese feminine drawing.
