Personality Development, The Vision Of A Harmonious Society

Marx put people in three stages of development and put "free personality of the people," the highest human development patterns, the whole history of the development of society is a history of human development. The Marxist historical materialism tells us, "the reality of the personality " is to promote the development of the society, created in human history, people's personality development is an inexhaustible motive force for social development. And people's personality development and social development are unified. At every historical stage, the development of the human personality in a unique gesture promote the development of social and historical progress. It is a new mission of the current construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics to take the scientific development concept as a guide to build a harmonious society. Harmonious society contains harmonious coexistence of human and nature, man and society, man and man, man with themselves. The development of the human personality "harmonious society" plays a key role, and shows a new feature under the word of "Harmonious society". However, the development of personality, has an objective truth that can not be ignored: because of the market economy and the negative effects of their own personality, personality development has a twist, resulting in society disharmony with the emergence of risk factors. How to face this fact, how to promote the development of personality in the process of buliding a harmonious society, and eventually achieve "individual freedom" is what we have to consider and study. "Personality development" is in this context and under the proposed to study, which has the major theoretical and practical value.This paper is divided into five parts:Part I: basic personality of a harmonious society. Theory is to guide practice, only a deep understanding and mastery of the deep meaning of "harmonious society" can ensure the smooth progress of construction and the achievement of a harmonious society. From main sources of thought, the perspective of Marxist theory and the analysis of the understanding of"harmonious society"is all based the differences and is a unity of diversity. In other words, only there is "difference", there is "harmony." From the perspective of the human, the personality is the foundation of "harmonious society", but also the ultimate objective of"harmonious society".Part II: The meaning of Marx's viewpoint of personality development. Through a brief analysis and summary of the course of Marx's viewpoint of personality, we can found Marx's has contributed a life-long effort in the search of the way of human development, and he thought that "the free development of personality" is the ultimate concern. From the "reality of the individual", Marx started to research the personality, the carrier of the human personality is the realistic individual, and is generated the activities. Human personality is a complex area of philosophy. Motivation, uniqueness, autonomy, creativity and clear-cut contemporaneity are the main features of the personality development. From different perspectives and standards, it has different forms and types. The formation and development of personality is not isolated from the society, a person's personality will be united at the base of human's sociality.Part III: The harmonious society and people's personality were promoted mutually. The human personality and sociality are mutually reinforcing, and the person's personality can't develope if leaves sociality ,and sociality can not existent if leave the personality. On the one hand,people with individual personality are the main construction force of harmonious society, people's creativity is power to promote social development. If we want to build a harmonious society,we must process the relationships between human and society, human and nature, man and man, man and themselves perfectly. Each group of those relationships can not be separated from the human, therefore, the development of the human personality plays a vital role in building the process of a harmonious society. However, the development of personality has had an adverse impact on society, and it becomes a reasons of risk factor of society. On the other hand, the construction of a harmonious society brings unprecedented opportunities and power in those aspects of economic, political and cultural. Because of the existence of a number of risk factors in society, personality development has met obstacles to progress, and even led to the emergence of personality risk.Part IV: Personality change in constructing harmonious society. Harmonious society brings power and opportunities, as well as challenges. The socialist market economy, socialist democracy and socialist ideology and culture provides a solid foundation and good environment for the development of personality, the awareness of independent has been forced, creativity and quality greatly improved,and personality develope toward the free direction. But the market economy, globalization, and personality all like double-edged swords, personality not only shows healthy development, but also a twist, its very nature is the alienation of personality. "Anthropocentrism" causes disharmony between personality with nature, "extreme individualism" causes personality being separated from sociality, the "pan-economy" causes human being slaves of "man-made objects" , all those are manifestations of personality twist.Part V: Realizing the free development of personality in harmonious society. "Freedom personality" is the ultimate concern of Marxist concept of personality. In order to really grasp its implication and understand the human personality development and social development unity, "personality freedom" should be understood from both of nouns and verbs. We will meet the alienation of the personality in the process of constructing a harmonious society, but we can not exclud it. However,we should think it as the insurmountable stage in the process of development, and the development of personality must play an active role. The aim of constructing a harmonious society is to achieve personality development freedom. To this end, in order to promote freedom of personality development, we have to overstep reality, especially to overstep the risk factors in society. This oversteping not only is reflected in the practice areas, but also in the field of thought; not only requires the provision of favorable conditions for human, also requires personal effort.
