The Interpretation Of The Historical Process, Learn To Ask

Philosophical hermeneutics of Gadamer has opened up a new horizon for contemporary philosophy,aesthetics,literary and artistic as well as history. Also it has laid a theoretical basis for a better understanding of historical process, leading to a broadened horizon in the research on the history of western music at the moment.The history of western music, as a branch of musicology, has a dual disciplinary nature, covering both musicology and history. However, the historical aspect is more often than not overlooked in the research realm on the history of western music, which focused heavily on the study of music, composer, music style and theme. For example, such questions are not very well addressed as: How to understand the" historical process" of the history of western music? What is the music history fact? In this paper, the writer will conduct a preliminary exploration about interpretations of the " historical process", using the modern hermeneutics by Gadamer as a theoretical framework. At the same time, it is expected that this research could lead more scholars to the study of "historical process" in the history of western music.
