| In Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County, Hunan province, 'Ge Teng'is one kind of multi-voice folk chorus without conduction and accompaniment, which performed in the daily life and folk activity of local Miao nationalities. In 2006,'Ge Teng'was listed as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage, list of 54, category of folk music, number ofⅡ—23.By applying theroy and way of ethnomusicology, and investigation, observation, analysis from local, this thesis trys to generalize history and reality of'Ge Teng'objectively and systematically.The thesis consist of four parts which are introduction, overview of 'Ge Teng', analysis of'Ge Teng', protection and development of'Ge Teng'.Introduction——Introducing current situation of'Ge Teng's research, discussing value and way of research, and local study.1st Chapter——Firstly, location and structure of Jinzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County are described. Secondly, writer introduces and discusses about origin, development and title of'Ge Teng'. Moreover, by considerring local culture, aesthetic habits and human environment, 'Ge Teng'is categorized scientifically.2nd Chapter——Mainly focus on deep analysis of'Ge Teng'self. Firstly of all, base on first-hand information from local (tracks, song lyrics, video, pictures, etc.), writer analyzed aspect of scale, transfer type, rotation method, multi-voice, musical structure detaily. Secondly, operas'and concerts'charateristic have also been analyzed.3rd Chapter——Protection and development of'Ge Teng'.
