Eco-tourism Area Identification Index System

With the flourishing development of global tourist industry, the ecotourism, as a substitute form for the public traveling, is gaining more and more popularity among tourists. The ecotourism brings about new opportunities for the construction and development of tourism spots; but at the same time, it also leads to a serious destruction of the natural resources and eco-system of the ecotourism areas to various extents. However, the studies on the ecotourism spots mainly focus on such fields as the structural arrangements of regional space, the conceiving of the developing program of ecotourism spots, the evaluation and exploitation of ecotourism resources, the environment change and sustainable development of ecotourism spots and the evolvement and threshold analysis. The lack is a comprehensive study with strong pertinence and feasibility on the construction, development and management of the identification index system of ecotourism spots Therefore, the present paper makes a systematic study on the identification index of ecotourism spots in terms of the ecology theory, the environment protection theory, the sustainable development theory and the eco-ethic theory in an effort to provide feasible guiding suggestions for the construction and sustainable development of ecotourism areas.The study on the Discernible index system of ecotourism spots is closely related to the regional environment, namely, in some sense, the relation between human and land in special areas. The principal methods employed by the paper include weighted coefficient values for indicators based on an entropy technique using the hierarchy analysis methods as well as methods to transform qualitative indicators to quantitative indicators based on expert opinions.Based on the analysis of the nature of ecotourism and the status quo of tourism in the natural reserves of various kinds and forest parks in our country, the paper establishes an Discernible index system of ecotourism spots in accordance with the feasibility principle, the conciseness principle, the recapitulation principle and thedynamic principle. The system consists of the society and culture discernible index B1, the regional planning discernible index B2, the eco-system discernible index B3, the natural and tourist resources discernible index B4, the environment discernible index B5, the infrastructure construction discernible index B6 and the integrative management discernible index B7, all together 7 secondary indexes, 26 grade C indexes and 84 concrete indexes (grade D). Based on the scores given by experts, the paper examines whether the natural reserves and forest parks belong to ecotourism spots and uses the examples of Xian Ren Cave Natural Reserve and Da Hei Mountain Forest Park of the Liaoning province to estimate its property by means of the Discernible index system of ecotourism spots.
