Since China adopted the policy of reform and opening up, the trend of China's developments show diversity. The tendencies of the social fabrics, economic composition, forms of organization, means of employment, interests of different sectors, modalities of distribution, social strata, social forces and value trends have increasingly diversified. The development of social diversity, on the one hand ,has awakened awareness of each kind of main body , enhanced the competitive ideas of them , so that the whole society is full of vitality, on the other hand, if lack of the means of integrating the reasonable requirements and uniting all positive forces, social division and even disharmony will be. In view of the above situation, our party has put forward the building of a harmonious society's time subject. Integration and cohesion is the tasks of primary importance of building a harmonious society. The primary means of integration and cohesion is people-centered. Because the people-oriented is a common value. Integration of the main purpose is to make the community members properly provided in a harmonious, stability and order way. The essence of justice is properly provided. Properly-provided is the preliminary of the condition of harmony, stability and order. While the goal of social work and the ideological and political work is to achieve people-oriented, fairness and justice, the ideology and politics work and social work will learn from each other and promote each other in the building of a harmonious society and play a basic role to achieve the goal of harmonious society.This paper is divided into three parts on relationship between social work and the ideology and political work in a harmonious society. The first part, starting with the characteristics of a harmonious society, sets out the role of the Ideology and political work and social work in a harmonious society. The second part compares and contrasts between the ideology and political work and social work in order to provide basic of learn form each other .The third Part deeply analyzes their learning from each other and their significance in a harmonious society between the social work and the ideology and political work .
