In recent years, Mainland China and Taiwan both have carried out a new curriculum reform on basic education, the learning of Chinese cultural tradition is strengthened more and the number of the Classical Chinese is added in teaching material. Mainland China and Taiwan have the same history,both are Chinese-speaking. Classical Chinese plays an important role in textbook of the two sides as the carrier of Chinese traditional culture and the crystallization of our national wisdom.This thesis, which is divided into six parts, makes a comparative study of compilations of Classical Chinese Part in textbooks for Chinese in senior middle school, published by the People’s Education Press and Taiwan Hanlin Publishing Co. Ltd.The first chapter, namely the introduction, an overview of the research background, motivation, review relevant research, and related research methods. Classical teaching has always been an important part of language education across the Taiwan Strait, but due to the long division, the both sides each have their own characteristics in Chinese teaching. Mainland China emphasis on the accumulation of basic knowledge of classical Chinese, and Taiwan attaches importance to the traditional Confucian thought, which has positive impact to the student personality. Domestic comparative research on cross-strait Classical Chinese teaching is less, and lack of systematic and theoretical. I attempt to study the similarities and differences of the senior middle school Classical Chinese textbooks from the two sides,aim to explore the general rules of classical teaching in Taiwan, and provide a reference ideas for the Mainland China. I make the introduction of the basic situation of two compulsory high school language textbook and redefine the concept_"classical" and "language teaching". Research methods include literature, comparative analysis and case analysis method.Chapter2, I compare the two Chinese curriculum documents from both sides, includes four parts as follows, target, teaching, textbook and curriculum evaluation. And draw the appropriate inspiration:Mainland China should actively promote the diversification of curriculum standards and textbook development; language courses to guide students to read literary classics, learn national wisdom.Chapter3compares the material system of the two version, which include the number, author, value orientation and the presentation of selected articles. Two versions of textbooks are the " quality and beauty" as the basic criteria selected text, and the range is broad. The individual values are biggest number of articles, and the number of world values need to upgrade. PEP uses a combination unit as the organization. Hanlin is mixed with classical and vernacular articles, which ignore the particularity of classical Chinese, in addition, due to the lack of connection between the two teaching classical articles, organized way need to be optimized.Chapter4compares the two editions of textbooks guidance systems, including the prompt system, annotation system and charting system. Hanlin guidance systems is richer, and more diversified, which is the direction of PEP for further improvement. In addition, two editions of textbooks need to further strengthen the systematic and the openness of the guidance system, pay full attention to the subjectivity of students.Chapter5compare exercise system of classical textbooks, with "Zhuzhiwu retreat the Qin Army" as an example. The two edition of textbook have the same amount of exercise,and the comprehension exercise occupy the majority in two versions. PEP emphasis on reading and classical Chinese basic, Hanlin version of the exercise type is single, attach importance to the application of knowledge. We need to further optimize the design exercise PEP materials, include pay attention the learning process and students’cooperation spirit. Besides,we should make exercises more accessible, interesting and situational.Chapter6are summarized thesis research. I believe that the development of textbooks is imperative to build a scientific standards, refined evaluation criteria, updated the concept of editing. College entrance examination reform has begun, under the new situation, how to further improve the content and the structure of classical Chinese textbooks, is also worth our considering.
