Men’s volleyball of our country has been in a low level for a long time. Oneof the main reason is that the service effect is not good. In order to grasp the application statusand features of adolescent men’s volleyball in China, there uses the methods of searching thedocuments and materials, interviewing experts, monitoring in games, analyzing video andmathematical statistics etc. to do the research of the service skills and actual effects of theeight adolescent men’s volleyball teams who enter the final competition in the TwelfthNational Games of the People’s Republic of China.The research shows that: in the aspect of techniques application, jump floating serve isthe mainstream of adolescent men’s volleyball in the Twelfth National Games of the People’sRepublic of China. Except the serve structure of Beijing is relative reasonable, the number ofusing the skill of jump serve decreases generally. And this contradicts the main trend in theworld that the top teams are using jump serve vigorously; in the aspect of serve effects, itpresents the relationship that the serve effects in general is in accordance with the teams’ranking. A team’s score contribution ratio is decreasing with its ranking. This indicates thatthe serve effect has the direct influence on the result and ranking. Among different serveeffects, no matter the single index or the general effect, jump floating serve is better than theother two skills. Jump serve is worst in performance, and its technique is rough, its stability isbad. Highly failed serve ratio is the main reason that affects its effect; in the aspect of path ofserve and dropping law, the region of six and eight have the most falling ball which shows theadolescent men volleyball players have a low ability to control the serve placement; in theaspect of the strategy to change the serve person, the team of Shanghai and the team of Fujianhave high pertinence of changing serve person. They have formed a integrity with the whole team’s serve strategy in choosing opportunity and changing person. Other teams either doesnot attach importance to that or they are not so mature.
