| Chinese Women’s National Volleyball Team(hereinafter referred to as China WNVT) excellently won the second place in the 2014 World Women’s Volleyball Championship. In addition to celebrating their outstanding performance, it is not difficult to see that although China WNVT won the second place in the 2014 World Women’s Volleyball Championship, surpassing both Brazilian and Italian Women’s Volleyball Teams and only ranking after the USA Women’s Volleyball Team, the application effectiveness of various techniques taken by China WNVT did not match the second ranking place as indicated by the results of statistics after the game. Therefore, by taking literature review method, video observation and statistics method, mathematical statistics method and logical analysis method, this article conducts the statistical analysis and study on applications of main techniques and tactics in links such as serving the ball, first pass, second pass, first attack, spiking, blocking and defense applied by China WNVT in the 2014 World Women’s Volleyball Championship, so as to find out their strengths and weaknesses on techniques and tactics, providing a reference for their future training. Conclusions are as follows:1. Among world top teams, the average age of players of the current China WNVT is the youngest while the average height(body height, spiking height and blocking height) is the highest, which are superior to any other world top teams in both physical performance and height related to the net; however, they have poorer capabilities to get the key points and make more mistakes.2. Seen from the top list of each single skill, there are outstanding players in China WNVT on each single skill. But few players are good at several skills. Compared with world top teams, the players of China WNVT lack all-round skills which would enable them to be star players. Coordinating special talents of each player as a whole team is our way to victory and the tactical guidelines that we should strengthen.3. Serving the ball is one of China WNVT’s major weaknesses. China WNVT’s service success rate is lower than that of world top teams and the miss rate is high, causing the service efficiency generally to be negative; the lower service success rate of China WNVT poses problems for our defense and counterattack when the opponent has higher first attack quality and the high success rate of first pass.4. China WNVT’s first pass and defense are also weak links. The accurate rate of the first pass of China WNVT is obviously lower than that of world top teams; the defensive efficiency rate of China WNVT is lower than or basically equal to that of world top teams; besides, gaps remain in the average point obtained in the defensive set. Different from the lineup of “attacker + attacker + libero” commonly applied by world top teams, China WNVT applies the lineup of “attacker + attacker(receiver) + libero”. However, the accurate rate of the first pass and defensive efficiency rate are still not high and the application of such a lineup doesn’t fundamentally solve the problems of both poor first pass and defense.5. China WNVT’s setters plays stably, especially Wei Qiuyue, whose passing error rate is low; however, due to the inaccurate first pass and the poor defense as well as the bad tactical organization, gap still exists in passing efficiency between China WNVT and world top teams.6. Powerful spiking has won higher scores in the game; the reasonable and effective tactical arrangement has maximized the spiking capability of Zhu Ting. However, the spiking is relatively intensified, 68.06% of which are completed by Zhu Ting, Hui Ruoqi and Zeng Chunlei. Wherein, the spiking rate of Zhu Ting reaches up to 30.74%. Besides, China WNVT’s spiking is characterized by “more powerful attack and less quick attack” and “more front attack and less back attack”, compared with the combination of fast and changeable multidimensional attack applied by world top teams, gap still exists.7. China WNVT’s blocking rate is high, especially contributed by Yuan Xinyue, who performs well in the game. In addition, the tactic of “blocking the straight line attack and allowing the back row players to counterattack the cross court attack” applied by China WNVT in the game has made the blocking more targeted. So China WNVT has strengths in blocking rate; but blocking back and blocking up by China WNVT are inferior since the multi-point and multidimensional attack taken by the opponent causes difficulty to our blocking.Suggestions are as follows:1. Improve players’ mental training so as to enhance their self-confidence. Provide more chances of participating in big games for young players to enrich their experience; strengthen basic training for big and tall players to perfect their technical movement details.2. In the routine training, strengthen skill practices of players at each position. Intensive training shall be continually given to players to highlight their strong skills while exercises shall be strengthened to enhance their weak skills so as to improve their overall capabilities.3. The serving and blocking exercises shall be strengthened to enhance the service accuracy and attacking success rate and reinforce the variety of service; more blocking up exercises may be conducted, with emphasis on combining blocking and defending and fostering concord and coordination among players. Attention shall be paid to improving hand shape in training and enhancing the capability of pre-judgment.4. First pass and defense are the urgent problems to be solved. In the routine training, emphasize on the moving exercise and judgment of blocking out and further improve the technical movements for the first pass and defense; meanwhile, attempt to change China WNVT’s lineup of “attacker + attacker(receiver) + libero”. Strengthen the first pass and defense skills of Zhu Ting, and then use the lineup of “attacker + attacker + libero” commonly applied by the Euro-American top teams.5. Strengthen China WNVT’s tactical organizing capability. Conduct tactical design on poor first pass and defense and enrich offensive tactics. In the routine training, conduct more exercises on tactical training so as to strengthen setters’ tactical awareness; and strengthen the training on back row attack and multi-point attack so as to improve the multidimensional attack system. |
