University Environmental Ethics Education In

As the problem of ecological crisis is worsening ,environmental protection is being given close attention to by more and more people .The public already have rudimentary idea of it and their solicitude for the problem of environment causes it to become the focus of public comments .However, it should be recognized that the idea of environmental protection of the public which was directly gained in their everyday life through the senses ,to a great extend ,still stays in the perceptual stage .And the consequence of this situation is the needs of deepening people's environmental protection awareness ,of strengthening people's responsibility awareness, and of performing the conduct of environmental protection by people's own free will. In order to make a breakthrough ,the basic work of strengthening the education of environmental ethic should be done ,especially in colleges.As sacred hall for spread of advanced idea and civilization ,for breading of persons of outstanding ability , colleges and universities are bound to take the great responsibilities of spreading ideas of environmental protection , of providing talents , of creating green demonstration base to the society ,and of directly intervening in the work of environmental protection as a scientific research institution and economic substance . To perform it , colleges and universities must change their former educational method of instillation , the moral education content which loses contact with actual life , and the evaluation mode of taking examination marks as the only criterion of judging one's moral character , in regard to environmental ethic education . This article tries to discuss the definition of the basic content of college environmental ethiceducation , to conclude method or way of education , and to give a brief account of its system of education , from the starting point of fostering college students' awareness of environment and of strengthening their conducts of environmental protection .To sum up , as regard to college environmental ethic education we lay stress on imparting new outlook of value and on fostering the quality of environmental ethic , Moreover , we advocate a healthy and reasonable life style or attitude of life . in respect of method or way of education , we should not only emphasize the transformation of classroom instruction form , but also the infiltration of the goal of environmental ethic education into the system of environment for education and after school activities . We should attach importance to implicit way of education and make every effort to do the teaching in a subtle way . In respect of the construction of evaluation system , we pay attention not only to student grades and behaviors but also to their psychological change about environmental protection and to the enhancement of their ability to solving problems .In short .college environmental ethic education is an indispensable part of our quality education . Though this article is only a tentative approach , we expect it will be of some help to college quality education .
