Jiangsu Province, Secondary Vocational Schools, Vocational Guidance Current Situation And Countermeasures

Since 1980s, when career guidance was resumed in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province, it made some progress. However, it is still the weak link in Secondary vocational education. Based on the theories of career guidance, this paper investigates 1083 students in Secondary Vocational Schools, and teachers responsible for career guidance as well through questionnaire survey and individual interviews and case analyzing to analyze current situations of the career guidance in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province, find out the existing problems, and raise the strategy to widely carry out the career guidance in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province according to the concrete situations.This paper consists three parts.The first part: theoretical basis of vocational guidance and the development of vocational guidance in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province. Explore career guidance in psychological terms, vocational guidance in Sociological terms, and in pedagogical terms; trace back to the development of career guidance in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province.The second part: investigation of the current situation in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province. Take the questionnaires,interviews and case analyzing as the method, Making substantial research on the current situation. Inspecting the condition of occupation preparation, the career development plan condition and career guidance implementation in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province. Exploiting problems existed in the vocational guidance in Secondary Vocational Schools in Jiangsu province.The third part: In view of what is known about the investigation, especially some existed main problems, this paper provides strategies which include establishing sound system of vocational guidance, training career guidance and strengthening network building of vocational guidance.
