As the emergence of a knowledge-based global economy makes colleges the leading power of the local economic and social development, the interactions and coordinate development of local colleges in the regional economy has become a consensus of all the circles of society. Unfortunately, there is not yet adequate discussions nor thorough understanding as to how to conduct favorable interactions to achieve the win-win goal and supplementarities to their mutual benefit, though such virtuous relations are of vital importance to the in-depth reforms in higher education, improvement of both local colleges and regional economy competitiveness, and the sustainability of regional economy.Comparing with Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other provinces that have adopted the Strategy of Rejuvenating Province through Education, Hunan still has a long way to go on road to enlarge its scale of higher education, optimize its structure and enhance their contribution to the economic and social development of the region. To stick the road of interactive development of local higher education in regional economy is the only way for Hunan to richen her people and boost her economy.Through an analysis of the characteristics of Hunan's economy, the present research analyzes the problems existing in the colleges' interactive development in the regional economy and puts forward some corresponding strategies and proposals. The thesis falls into six parts: the first part expounds the background and current situation of this research. The second part gives a general idea about the theories and practice of interactive development of Hunan's colleges in local economy. The third part points out that the lack in interaction between colleges and local economy lies in the following four respects: inconsistency of subjects, structural imbalance of supply and demand, imperfect supporting system and unsound running mechanism in interactions. The fourth part raises some constructive strategies and proposals. The fifth part offers many demonstrations in the hope of making the present research more practical and workable. The sixth part draws a conclusion from the main points above and gives an outlook for the further study.The present research is expected to shed light on the interactive development of Hunan's colleges in local economy to find the very ways to improve the virtuous development of them, and will prove contributive as theoretical and practical guidance to the expedited development of Hunan's higher education and the elevated core competence of Hunan Province.
