The urban-rural gap in China is as old as the hills, with the development of society in recent years, this problem is gradually protruding obvious and becoming one of the focal points that society shows solicitude for mainly.The urban-rural gap in education as important content of urban-rural gap, has also aroused entire society's attentiones after the equality and fairness voices in education .But, society's researches mainly analyse and discuss the causes that arause this gap,degrees of this gap ,the tactics and measures to reduce this gap.But, these discussions have failled to change the reality of urban-ruralgap in education,in contrary ,this gap has been broaden, the reason for it where be? our research method is not right? The urban-rural gap in education has deeper and conceal more factors?The theory of cultural reproduction has been used as a very important theory to explain social inequalities by many foreign scholars, in our country, however, there is little introduction on it, neither theoretical nor practical.In this research, mainly from the angle of the urban-rural gap in education, base on the theory of cultural reproduction,examining cultural reproduction phenomenon which exists in education especially in the general education which has deeper hidden.This study mainly ponders a problem from architectural and relational angle, making efforts to think deeply the relations between objects, expecting to seek out the connection between objects. At the same time , striving for macroscopic and microcosmic union, expecting to combine social inequality, urban-rural gap in education with the course , teaching, estimating etc,to build the structure connection in educating process and social inequality .The methods used in this study include mainly content analysis, including the analysis to various data, education policy, teaching material, examination paper etc.The conclusion of this study is that cultural reproduction is found in China's education, which makes most rural childrenre rejected through over-selection(examination) and return to the countryside, and thus forms two closed cycle reproduction-superior urban cycle of culture and inferior rural cycle of culture.So cultural reproduction in education in China is more hidden cultural causes of dual structure between the ruban and the rural. The academic value of the study may be that it completely introduces the theory of reproduction into China.Foreign scholars usually use this theory to study social stratification, however, this study applies the theory to analyze urban-rural gap in education in our country.In regard to the practical value, the findings provided here may help policy makes to pay more attention to cultural reproduction in education, and give more opportunities to rural children.
